Why we're here...
Providing a fun community event to help two local charities who need our support. In 2012 Martinsburg Mall organized and created a family-friendly community event that would raise money to benefit local charities; Christmas Cash for Kids and Children's Home Society of West Virginia. Supported by generous sponsors, team participants, contestants, bands, volunteers, and the local community, this event continues to grow and expand each and every year. Fun and excitement include a Wing Cook Off, Wing Eating Contest, Wing Sampling, Live Music, Beer Garden, Kids Korner, Vendors and Much More! What a fun easy way to raise money for two worthy causes!
Come join us for the 3rd Annual 'Burg Wing Off and see who will be battling for the title of "Best Wings" in the 'Burg. It will be a ton of fun for the entire family!
What is. . .CHRISTMAS CASH FOR KIDS?
Christmas Cash for Kids will be entering into its ninth Christmas season of assisting less fortunate families in making Christmas possible for their children. The program is supported entirely by donations and local volunteers. Christmas Cash for Kids is sponsored by City National Bank and Prettyman Broadcasting in collaboration with the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle and the local Department of Human Resources.
Christmas Cash for Kids was founded in December 2006 when the local information and Referral Center received numerous phone calls several days before Christmas asking where they could obtain Christmas assistance for their children. These families did not have a need when Salvation Army, Community Ministries, and other organizations took Christmas applications in September and October. Layoffs or reductions in the number of hours worked created a situation where there was a real possibility their children would have no Christmas.
Christmas Cash for Kids serves children from birth to 18. Each child receives an outfit and a toy. The Christmas Cash for Kids program is a Berkeley County Program, and all monies raised in the county will stay within families residing here.
Christmas Cash for Kids continues to grow each year. In 2006, when the program was launched, it served 164 children, we now serve over 800 children each year.
The main objective of the Christmas Cash for Kids program is to provide Christmas gifts to children who otherwise may not receive anything for Christmas.

Who is...The Children's Home Society of West Virginia
The Children's Home Society of West Virginia is a private, non-profit child welfare organization founded in 1896. The Society is a participatory organization consisting of employees, foster families, adoptive families, volunteers, board members, Directors Emeriti, advisory council members, donors, benefactors, supporters, and friends. They are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that is representative of the communities we serve from around the state. They are licensed to provide child welfare and behavioral health services in West Virginia. Also, they are a member agency of the West Virginia Alliance for Children, the Child Welfare League of America and are fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children. Comprehensive child welfare, behavioral health, social casework and advocacy services are provided to over 13,000 children each year from thirteen primary locations throughout the state. Martinsburg site programs include:
Adoption Services ~ Foster Care Services ~ WE CAN Mentoring Program
Safe Haven Child Advocacy Center ~ S.T.E.P. ~ Emergency Shelter Care
